Project Overview
Designed for the sophisticated atmosphere of Princess Cruises’ Cascade Bar aboard Sun and Star Princess, the Flowscreen® – Mesh Water Wall creates a dramatic architectural centerpiece within a highly active onboard environment.
As with the best hospitality water features, the goal was to create an experience that felt natural and authentic while meeting demanding spatial and operational requirements. The handcrafted stainless-steel chainmail introduces the look, movement and soothing sound of cascading water, creating a refined focal point that enhances the guest experience without overwhelming the surrounding space.
The Solution
The Cascade Bar installation was designed around the unique parameters of a cruise ship environment, where available space is limited and equipment must operate reliably within a constantly moving vessel. Height, footprint, water containment, splash control, filtration and system accessibility all play an important role in the design of an onboard water feature.
Flowscreen® – Mesh Water Wall combines handcrafted stainless-steel chainmail with custom water engineering to create significant visual impact within a compact footprint. The system is engineered for quiet, splash-free operation, helping protect the surrounding bar environment while allowing guests to experience the visual and acoustic qualities of authentic flowing water.
Because water movement is the defining element of the installation, the cascading flow is carefully integrated with the chainmail to create changing patterns of light, texture and movement.
