Fairmont Kea Lani Resort

Fairmont Kea Lani Resort – Flowscreen® – Mesh Water Wall

Project Overview

Located on the shores of Maui, the Fairmont Kea Lani is renowned for its refined luxury and open-air Hawaiian architecture. For its lobby, Technifex created a custom Flowscreen® – Mesh Water Wall feature designed around three critical requirements: height, a compact footprint and zero water splash.

Water is an essential element of the Hawaiian landscape, so creating an authentic experience was key. The Flowscreen® – Mesh Water Wall installation combines the natural look, movement and sound of cascading water with handcrafted stainless-steel chainmail, creating an elegant architectural focal point that complements the resort rather than competing with it.

The Solution

Every Flowscreen® – Mesh Water Wall installation is individually handcrafted to suit its environment. At the Fairmont Kea Lani, Technifex engineered the feature to achieve significant vertical impact within a limited lobby footprint while carefully containing and recirculating the water for a quiet, splash-free experience.

The sculptural stainless-steel chainmail creates a dynamic surface for water to flow across, producing the visual texture, movement and soothing sound of a natural waterfall. Water containment, filtration and system engineering were integrated into the feature to support reliable operation while maintaining the clean, sophisticated aesthetic required for a luxury resort lobby.

The result is a distinctive water feature that brings an authentic sense of Hawaii indoors, combining the look, feel and sound of flowing water with the precision of custom architectural engineering.
